OUTSTANDING PAIR OF STERLING SILVER TABLE PHEASANTS. 1) Hen pheasant with hinged wings with head up in walking position. English hallmarks on tail feathers & wing, London, Sterling, 1927. Also other hallmarks on tail from unknown Continental maker. 2) Cock pheasant with removable head, fixed wings, and open beak. Standing with head up and wings down. Unknown Continental hallmarks to tail. Both beautifully rendered with realistic hand chased feathers and features. WEIGHT: 84 tr. oz. SIZE: 21″ l x 8-1/2″ h. PROVENANCE: Woolworth Family, (F.W. Woolworth Department Store). CONDITION: 1) Small loss at end of tail feathers. 2) Neck feathers with some dents, tail feathers with loss at ends, wings with dents, and 1/2″ split.
