UNIQUE AMERICAN CARVED OAK FIGURAL WALL CLOCK. First quarter 20th century. Manufactured by the Michigan Chair Co. (1890 -1926). This unique clock, carved from the solid, depicting three minstrels; the center figure singing, flanked by a horn player and a guitar player. Centering an arts-and-crafts style oak dial applied with brass numerals, the hands filigreed brass. The time-and-strike, chain-driven brass movement with weights and pendulum. Remnants of original manufacturer’s label affixed to back of carving. SIZE: 27-1/2″ h. x 27-1/2″ w. PROVENANCE: Descended through the family of the owners of the Old Mr. Boston distillery. CONDITION: Very good overall, with small shrinkage cracks and chip to hat brim of horn player. 9-92941 (1,500-2,500)
