FINE QUEEN ANNE WALNUT BONNET TOP HIGHBOY. Second half 18th century, New England. In two parts, the molded swan’s neck pediment centering three rope-twist finials above the rectangular case fitted with a central shell carved drawer flanked by a short drawer on each side above four graduated long drawers joined to the lower case with stepped mid-molding fitted with a long drawer over three aligned short drawers, the centermost shell carved, all with thumb-molded edges above the apron with astragal arches mounted with pendent acorn finials raised on bandy cabriole legs with shaped returns terminating in platform pad feet. SIZE: 88″ h. 35-1/2″ w of case. 40″ w overall. 21-1/2″ d. CONDITION: Professionally refinished & polished with replaced brasses. Bottom backboard of upper case is a later replacement. 9-90412 (9,000-12,000)
