UNSIGNED (American, Mid-19th Century) PORTRAIT OF TWO SISTERS. Outstanding large oil on canvas full length portraits shows the two girls, possibly twins, seated on a green upholstered sofa draped with red cloth wearing the same flower print dresses. They are seated closely together and hold an open book and closed book in lap. A red curtain swag is seen on the right side while an outdoor landscape scene is on left side. Housed in its original period gold frame. SIZE: 50″ x 39-1/2″. CONDITION: Surface dirt will brighten under cleaning, very good. 9-99087 (3,500-4,500)
