FINE NEW ENGLAND SHERATON MAHOGANY SEWING TABLE. Second quarter, 19th century, Massachusetts. The work table with square top with hinged D-form leaves with molded edges above the conforming frieze Fitted with a bank of two short drawers with brass rosette knobs above the sliding tray fitted with a floral silk work bag, raised on spiral twist ring-turned legs, with ringed cuffs terminating in brass capped castors. SIZE: 29-1/2″ h x 18″ w x 17″ d. PROVENANCE: From the private collection and estate of Robert Nugent, Glenridge, NJ. CONDITION: Very good, retaining original polished surfaces. Silk bag with extensive deterioration. Casters original, no restoration or repairs noted. 9-28200 (800-1,000)
