CHARLES WILSON KNAPP (AMERICAN, 1823 – 1900) “PENNSYLVANIA LANDSCAPE”. Oil on canvas landscape scene shows a river in a valley floor with mountain backdrop with a light yellow to blue sky. A boat with man and woman is beside the shore and there are two figures in the field adjacent to a farmhouse on a small bluff overlooking the water. Signed lower right, “C. H. KNAPP”. A nice late fall scene. Housed in a decorative gilt replacement frame with gilt liner. Retaining a label from the Bernard Black Gallery, New York City with artist and title. SIZE: 18-1/4″ x 32-1/2″.
