FINE SHERATON FIGURED MAHOGANY DROPLEAF SEWING TABLE. First quarter 19th- century. Boston or North Shore Massachusetts. The figured Mahogany rectangular top fitted with a pair of D-form leaves; all with reeded edges above the conforming case fitted with three reverse graduated drawers, the lower most having a fabric barrel-form sewing bag, raised on tapering reeded cylindrical legs, the top carved with water leaves, terminating in suppressed ball feet beneath ringed cuffs. SIZE: 30″h. overall width 19-1/4″ 17″d. CONDITION: Professionally restored and re polished, the hinged writing or work surface in upper drawer now absent. Proper left hinged leaf with repair near hinge otherwise very good. 9-20057 (2,500-4,000)
