US 10-POUNDER PARROTT CASE SHOT. Non-excavated. Shot is sectioned to show the black matrix, the lead balls, the tin bursting charge cavity, the powder tube and the paper time fuse section. This is purportedly from the desk of Robert Parker Parrott, the inventor of the Parrott cannon and Parrott projectiles. He was the superintendent of the West Point Foundry in Cold Spring, New York.
