EMILE ALBERT GRUPPE (American, 1896-1978) MANSFIELD’S BIRCHES. Outstanding large oil on canvas landscape shows a stand of white birches having yellow and gold foliage lined along a rock strewn field at the bottom edge of Mt. Mansfield. All under a white and blue cloud sky. Wonderful pallet and a nice, early work. Housed in its original carved and gilt wood frame. Signed lower right. SIZE: 30″ x 36″. PROVENANCE: By descent through the housekeeper of the Charles Edison Estate. CONDITION: Very good. 9-95624 (10,000-15,000)
