UNSIGNED (Italian, 19th Century) “V. DI. NAPOLI DA MARE”. Outstanding gouache on paper scene shows Naples Harbor on a bright sunny day with several ships and rowboats. A large city is seen with many buildings on far shore. A dormant Mt. Vesuvius is seen in the background. Housed in what appears to be its original lemon gold frame having a black matte with white line highlights, oval title cutout. SIZE: Sight: 16-1/4” x 25”. PROVENANCE: Richard Paine Estate, Seal Cove, Maine. CONDITION: Generally in good condition. There are several small black spots in sky. Not examined out of frame. 9-92403 (1,000-1,500)
