STEUBEN FREDERICK CARDER PLAQUE. Wonderful political cartoon plaque depicts Franklin Roosevelt riding atop a galloping mule and wearing a graduation cap and gown with rolled up plans in one arm. Beneath the figure are the words “Four More Years”. Plaque is acid cut back on mirror black glass. It is said that Frederick Carder and a good friend had opposing political views and as a joke Carder had his factory create this plaque to give to his friend. Plaque is framed in a simple black wooden frame. The plaque is accompanied by a letter from Mr. Dimitroff detailing the story of the plaque. SIZE: Plaque is 18-1/4″ x 19″. Overall 20-1/2″ x 20″. PROVENANCE: Thomas Dimitroff CONDITION: Very good to excellent with some minor wear to finish on frame. 5-69084 (5,000-7,000)
