BRASS-BOUND TEAK CAMPAIGN CHEST. Circa 1820. In two parts, the rectangular upper case with two aligned short drawers over a long drawer fitted to the conforming lower case of two long drawers, all fitted with recessed brass handles, raised on shaped bracket feet; the whole with brass-bound corners and strapping. SIZE: 40″ h x 34″ w x 17-1/2″ d. PROVENANCE: Richard Paine Estate, Seal Cove, Maine CONDITION: Old cleaned surfaces, original bails, locks, and escutcheons; original backboards and bracket feet. Some shrinkage splits to sides of case at rear, professional spliced repairs at back of top, carrying handles removed and sides patched. All are old repairs. Patina is mellow. 9-92558 (1,800-2,400)
