EXTREMELY RARE INSCRIBED REMINGTON CANE GUN. SN 41. Cal. 32 RF. Remington cane gun with extremely rare red gutta percha shaft & handle with silver collar at the joint between handle & shaft inscribed in Olde English script “F B Andrews MD”. Cane is about 35-1/2″ overall length with a 3-1/4″ slightly curved handle with swelled flat end. It has the concealed round trigger with four concentric rings and a knurled metal tip with a silver metal collar slightly above the tip. The SN is found on the metal tip. PROVENANCE: Bruce M. Cady Estate Collection. CONDITION: Fine to very fine. Handle has a crack at the bend and there is a hairline at the loading joint, otherwise handle & shaft are sound. Shaft retains most of its strong dark burgundy colored finish with a few minor, light nicks & scratches. Handle, with its crack, is otherwise sound and retains 75-80% dark orig burgundy finish and the shank about all of its orig finish. Mechanics are fine, bright shiny bore. 4-36936 JR352 (4,000-6,000)
