FINE CLASSICAL GILTWOOD AND EGLOMISE LOOKING GLASS. First quarter 19th century, Massachusetts. The rectangular beveled mirror plate below the cream eglomise panel with gilt ribbon bow tied garland of blooming roses within a marbleized robin’s egg blue border. The frame with stepped molded crest, with spherules above anthemion leaf blocks above engaged Corinthian style columns on blocked bases applied with floral rosettes. SIZE: 35″ h x 24-3/4″ w. PROVENANCE: From the private collection and estate of Robert Nugent, Glenridge, New Jersey. CONDITION: All original, some losses to gesso on capitals and on leaf tips.
