PENNSYLVANIA QUILT TOGETHER WITH JACQUARD COVERLET. Circa 1841 and 1888, Pennsylvania. The first, signed and dated by the maker, “Mary Howell/1841.” Of floral design in green and red on cream within scrolling floral borders. The second, a blue and white coverlet designed with rose clusters within a patriotic border of willow trees alternating with displayed eagles beneath stars. Signed “DIMIS PARKHURST SOUTHPORT 1888″. SIZE: Quilt: 81″ x 99″. Coverlet: 67″ x 64”. CONDITION: The quilt with areas of brown staining, otherwise good. The second with some fraying to edges, otherwise good. 9-29983 (500-900)
