CAST BRONZE STATUE OF A LEAPING PIG. A finely sculpted figure of a pig realistically depicted on its hind legs in the act of leaping or jumping, mounted on a rectangular plinth; stepped and molded, raised on classical winged claw feet, with verdigris patina. Unsigned and unmarked, but bearing a resemblance to works by August Gaul (1869-1921). SIZE: 14″ overall h. x 17″ l. x 10″ w. PROVENANCE: Richard Paine Estate, Seal Cove, ME. CONDITION: Very good with old patina, having some minor nicks and scratches on surface. Very small stress crack beneath plinth at point where hind legs are joined to plinth. 9-92562 (800-1,200)
