FINE FEDERAL TIGER MAPLE, CHERRY, AND MAHOGANY BUTLER’S DESK. Circa 1810, Pennsylvania. This fine inlaid example with rectangular top with cross banded and string inlaid borders in mahogany and satinwood above the conforming case, the uppermost deep long drawer with hinged front opening to a baize-lined writing surface, the interior fitted with an arrangement of valanced pigeon holes and drawers above three aligned drawers over a pair of deep bottle drawers centering a pair of bow front cupboard doors, all crossbanded centering figural maple panels and paterae raised on slender tapering square legs. SIZE: 40-3/4″ h x 47-1/2″ w x 20-1/2″ d. CONDITION: Very good with professionally repolished surfaces and with minor cosmetic restoration to veneers. 9-29875 (2,000-3,000)
