Aquatint engraving after a painting by Thomas Buttersworth showing the three-mast warship “President” and four other ships after a battle. The legend being a dedication from the publisher J. Burr and G. Ballisat. Published June 1st, 1815. Housed in a good gilt wood frame with line highlighted matte. Back paper retaining a label from Philip Suval Fine Arts, New York. SIZE: Sight: 18” x 22”. PROVENANCE: Richard Paine Estate, Seal Cove, Maine. CONDITION: Paper has toning, colors are somewhat faded, generally good. Not examined out of frame. 9-92402 (150-300)
