NEW ENGLAND SHERATON MAHOGANY BOW-FRONT CHEST OF DRAWERS. Circa 1840. Probably Massachusetts. The deck top with bow front and turret corner fitted with a pair of aligned bowfront short drawers with tiger maple panels, inlaid diamond formed escutcheons set back on the main case fitted with four graduated bow front long drawers all with cockbeaded edges centering tiger maple drawer fronts above a shaped apron, all flanked by 3/4 reeded posts raised on ring-turned legs. SIZE: 45″ overall h. x 39-1/2″w. x 36″ case w. x 17-3/4″d. CONDITION: Splashgaurd absent with good color patina the top in need of repolishing. Front of decktop has bow-front edge with repair. Replaced Sheraton style hardware. Overall very good. 9-20097 (2,000-4,000)
