FINE NEW ENGLAND SHERATON PAINT-DECORATED DRESSING TABLE. Circa 1840. The glove box fitted with two aligned drawers gilt-decorated with ribbon-tied foliate sprays, joined to the splashguard with rolled ears, highlighted with gilt leaftips above the rectangular top with rounded corners above the conforming frieze, fitted with a single drawer paint-decorated with grapevines, raised on tapering cylindrical ring-turned legs with ringed cuffs, all with mustard and dark brown highlights. Dressing table painted overall in ivory. SIZE: 38-1/2″ overall h. x 36″ w. x 18-1/2″ d. 32″ table h. CONDITION: Very good, with original surfaces and hardware.
