LARGE NICKEL “REMEMBER THE MAINE” CANNON. Ca. 1898, this mammoth and extremely heavy blank shooting cannon is heavily embossed “Pat. Pending & Remember the Maine” on the nickel and black painted carriage. The effect of the black paint against the highly nickeled embossed lettering is just striking. SIZE: 14″ l. x 6 1/2″ h. CONDITION: Overall near excellent with only minor wear to paint on spokes. MC 1-4249 (1,500-1,800)
