JEAN JULES SALMSON (French, 1823-1902) SPELTER FIGURE OF AN INDIAN. Statue of a standing man with Native costume including headdress and shield. He carries a weapon behind him with handle which is broken and hold his arm up which most likely held a spear which is not present. Probably a South American Indian. Attached to a turned black painted wood base. marked “Salmson” on base. SIZE: 25-1/2″ h including base. CONDITION: As noted above, otherwise good. 9-95515 (600-900)
