THOMAS H. WILLIS (American, 1850-1925) RED HULLED RACING YACHT. Needlework, silk, velvet and oil on canvas nautical scene shows a red hulled single mast racing yacht with full sails sailing right to left with seventeen figures on deck flying American flag. All under a blue sky with green ocean. Signed lower right with artist monogram “TW”. Housed in a black painted shadowbox frame with gold liner and behind glass. SIZE: 23″ x 18″. PROVENANCE: Richard Paine Estate, Seal Cove, Maine. CONDITION: Sails are toned and there are two horizontal separations in right two sails. Otherwise good. 9-92544 (1,500-2,500)
