EXCEPTIONAL CLASSICAL MAHOGANY TEA POY. First quarter 19th century. The hinged rectangular ebonized top with concave molded cornice flanked by gilt foliate borders opening to an interior fitted with six compartments, four of which have oak caddies with paneled mahogany sliding lids. The apron of figured mahogany with a border of carved leaf tips raised on a turned acanthus-carved pedestal joined to a platform base with incurved sides raised on gilt claw feet with scrolled returns. SIZE: 28-3/4″ h x 19″ w x 15″ d. PROVENANCE: Collection and shop contents of Linda and the late Vito Peri (owners of the Blue Dolphin Antique Shop, Northport, Maine).
