REGENCY TORTOISE SHELL TEA CADDY. Second quarter 19th century, England. The rectangular hinged sarcophagus lid opening to an interior fitted with two tea compartments with tortoise lids, the caddy on a slanted plinth raised on carved bone round feet. SIZE: 5-1/2″ h x 7-1/2″ l x 4-1/2″ d. CONDITION: Surface of box has been shellac-coated, cosmetic repairs to corners and to back of lid. Generally good. 9-29657 (1,500-2,500)
