AFTER JOHN JAMES AUDUBON (American, 1785-1851) “PIN TAIL DUCK PLATE CCXXVII”. Hand colored engraving with etching and aquatint. Engraved, printed and colored by R. Havell, 1834. Large folio print shows a male and female on a grass and sand stream bank pursuing a flying insect. Housed in a decorative burl and gilt wood frame with linen matte. Free float mount. SIZE: Actual: 25-1/2″ x 38″. CONDITION: Top margin edge has slits and losses due to binding, some minor dirt on margin. Otherwise very good with very strong colors. 9-99666 (11,000-14,000)
