TWO CARVED IVORY DIPTYCHS AND ONE CARVED TRIPYCH. 19th century, Europe. The first depicting Shakespeare at the court of Queen Elizabeth, the exterior carved in undulating lines. The second depicting the Crucifixion and Resurrection, the exterior carved with peony blossoms. The third carved triptych depicting Joan of Arc, the first scene “Vision”, the second “Before the King”, and the third “How to Save France from the English”. All carved in deep relief. The exterior card in Gothic flowerheads. SIZE: From 2″ d to 2-1/2″ d. CONDITION: Generally very good with untouched surfaces. 9-29317 (800-1,200)
