FRANK HENRY SHAPLEIGH (American, 1842-1906) THE BEACHED DORY. Oil on canvas laid on wood scene shows a gray dory set on rocks and sand in a low tidal area with trees and glimpses of a house in the background all under a blue sky. Signed lower left “F H Shapleigh”. Housed in a fine carved wood and gilt modern frame with wide carved and gilt liner having a carved gilt wood artist plaque. SIZE: 7″ x 10-1/2″.
