FEDERAL INLAID MAHOGANY DEMILUNE CARD TABLE. Circa 1810, New York. The hinged demilune top with string inlaid edges above the conforming frieze with oval figured mahogany panels, bordered by contrasting ebony and satinwood stringing. Raised on square tapered legs, headed by inlaid oval fan patera, above pendant bellflower inlays. The cuffs crossbanded. The top supported by a pivoting fifth leg. SIZE: 29″ h x 36″ l x 18″ d. PROVENANCE: From the private collection and estate of Robert Nugent, Glenridge, New Jersey. Purchased from George Scheiner & Son, Newark, New Jersey 1984. CONDITION: Very good with minimal and minor old professional restoration to string inlays. Old separation to seam of top rejoined at some time in the past, otherwise very good with old crackle surfaces. 9-28204 (2,500-3,500)
