OUTSTANDING FRENCH HALLMARKED SOLID SILVER REPOSSE BOWL. This highly decorative 19th Century footed bowl depicts a scene with maids and satyrs together with crowned figure with musical instruments and a wooded surrounding. All figures are in high relief and all are nude. The border of the bowl with blown out flowers of various types. Handles are in the form of shells and the top of the bowl with a print design. Underside of bowl is fitted with large ball shaped feet. Piece is hallmarked (has not been researched) and includes with a series of four hallmarks; one with an “N”, the second is difficult to discern but possibly an “E”, third a cock rooster and the fourth a French fleur de lis. Bowl weighs 522 grams. SIZE: 13” l x 8-1/2” w x approx. 3” t including feet. CONDITION: Very good. 5-62269 (800-1,200)
