UNUSUAL PAIR OF CARVED PEACOCK CAROUSEL ORNAMENTS. Last quarter of the 19th Century, possibly New York. Each carving depicting a male strutting peacock. The tail feathers well articulated and mounted on a swans neck pediment crest. These carvings retain their original painted and gilded surfaces in shades of blue, green and gold. SIZE: 24-3/4″ h x 15″ w. CONDITION: Original surfaces show normal and expected weathering and crackling with minor paint loss throughout. The crown plumage of one peacock has damage.
