RARE BARBER SHOP TRADE SIGN. Last quarter 19th century, Virginia. This exceptional tin example mounted within a wood frame with bold graphic design advertising haircut and shave beneath a double ended barber’s pole. Note: in its early use, the price of a haircut was reduced from .25 to .15c. The number “2” over painted with a “1”. Recently removed from longtime storage in a Virginia attic. SIZE: 36″ h x 24″ w. CONDITION: Retains good, vibrant, dry, original paint showing age appropriate wear, especially to wooden frame edges. Untouched condition. 9-27783 (3,000-5,000)
