ROCHESTER NEW HAMPSHIRE CAST-IRON SHEET METAL ROOSTER WEATHERVANE. Circa 1880. The full-bodied rooster with strongly detailed image, cast in two parts, the sheet iron tail pierced to depict feathers. SIZE: 31″ h. x 34-1/2″ l. PROVENANCE: Richard Paine Estate, Seal Cove, ME. CONDITION: Original painted surfaces absent, iron body and tail well rusted with brown patina, one foot with damaged and missing talons, both feet with extensive rust. Original mounting pole is absent. Still in very good condition overall. 9-92557 (7,000-9,000)
