RARE AND IMPORTANT NANCY HANKS WITH PNEUMATIC TIRE SULKY WEATHERVANE. Circa 1893, J.W. Fiske, New York. The full bodied copper horse and driver each with zinc head depicted on a pneumatic sulky with wire frame. The trotting horse modeled with flaring nostrils and full bodied mane mounted on a rod with arrow and knit banded copper balls. In gilt and verdigris surfaces. Offered with a museum stand. SIZE: 22″ h. 49″ overall l (including rod). CONDITION: Good weathered surfaces appear intact. Small bullet hole on stomach of driver, exiting left side chest. B-B shot dents on driver’s left thigh and right wrist. Otherwise very good. 9-27542 (15,000-20,000)
