CARVED & PAINT-DECORATED CAROUSEL “BRUMAS” BEAR. 1st quarter 20th century. Carved in a crouching position, this cream-painted bear with brown glass eyes and red and yellow scrolled saddle; carved with a ribbon-tied sash. SIZE: 19″ h. x 36″ l. PROVENANCE: From the auction sale in 2002 of the contents of the Madame Tussaud Wax Museum, Wookey Hole, Somerset, England, to the current owner. CONDITION: Structurally good, left forearm with reinforcing metal patch and additional reinforcing straps under paint. This figure shows evidence of extensive wear. 9-99645 (3,000-5,000)
