WALTER A. CLARK (American, 1848-1917) MOONLIGHT CRUISING. Outstanding oil on canvas early evening scene shows a two-mast schooner sailing left to right in front of a figure on the riverbank. The schooner approaches a riverboat with lights. All seen against a far riverbank with building lights and hills. A beautiful pink, gold, blue, and light green sky is reflected in the water. Signed lower right. Housed in an outstanding carved and gilt frame with gilt wood artist plaque. SIZE: 20″ x 24″. CONDITION: Craquelure, some inpainting. Very good. 9-97361 (3,000-5,000)
