WILLIAM IV MAHOGANY CHEVAL MIRROR. Second quarter 19th century, England. The rectangular mirror plate within a figural mahogany frame hinged and tilting within a frame. The frame with architectural cresting raised on rope twist reeded column headed by Doric capitals blocked at the center and joined to the mirror with threaded rods additionally mounted with candle arm brackets. The posts on square blocked supports joined by baluster-turned stretchers raised on downswept reeded tapering legs headed by acanthus carved scrollwork fitted with cast-brass capped casters. SIZE: Height: 70-1/2″. Overall width: 34-1/2″. Depth: 23″. PROVENANCE: From a fine Maine and New York private collection. CONDITION: Very good with original polished surfaces and mirror plate, candle arms absent. 9-29886 (800-1,200)
