*WINCHESTER MODEL 71 DELUXE LEVER ACTION RIFLE. SN 16629. Cal .348 WCF. 24″ rnd bbl, 2/3 magazine. Integral stippled ramp, hooded front sight with fine bead and filler in rear sight dovetail. Left side of bbl is marked “WINCHESTER/PROOF STEEL-MODEL 71-WINCHESTER/TRADEMARK-348 W.C.F.”, right side of bbl marked “MADE IN U.S.A. WINCHESTER REPEATING ARM CO./NEW HAVEN, CONN.” Long tang receiver with bolt peep sight. Straight grain American walnut checkered pistol grip stock, hard rubber grip cap and checkered steel buttplate. Checkered forend and steel nose cap with integral sling swivel base. Super grade sling swivels with period leather military style sling. CONDITION: Fine. Over 95% bbl blue with handling marks between receiver and rear sight dovetail. Receiver has 95% bright blue with slight edge wear, left side has small line of very fine pitting near the hammer screw. Bolt has good blue mixing with spots of patina, with patina on the upper edges of locking lugs. Lever has good blue mixing with patina on the edges. Buttplate has overall brown appearance from old application of cold blue. Stock is refinish with normal handling marks, recut checkering, slight rounding at the receiver, grip cap and buttplate from sanding. Forend is refinished with slight flattening of the checkering, normal handling marks with one dent on the left side forward of the receiver.
