WILLIAM EDWARD NORTON (AMERICAN, 1843 – 1916) ROUNDING PORTLAND HEADLIGHT. Oil on canvas laid on panel nautical scene shows a tall three-masted ship coming towards viewer with another astern. A red buoy is seen with the Portland headlight beyond. Signed lower left, “W. E. NORTON”. Housed in a gold and black molded wood frame. SIZE: 24″ x 31″. CONDITION: Discolored varnish layer, need of some restoration. Fair to good. 9-97138 (2,000-3,000)
