GEORGIAN INLAID MAHOGANY CHEST ON CHEST. Late 18th/early 19th century, England. The dentil molded cornice above three aligned short drawers over three graduated long drawers joined to the lower case of three graduated drawers, all with cockbeaded edges. Each drawer inlaid with plumed spandrels within yew and satinwood crossbanded borders. The whole on a molded base raised on ogee bracket feet. Secondary wood is pine. Backboards assembled with rosehead nails. SIZE: 72-1/2″ h x 21-1/2″ d. 40″ case w. 45″ w overall. PROVENANCE: Collection and shop contents of Linda and the late Vito Peri (owners of the Blue Dolphin Antique Shop, Northport, Maine). CONDITION: Nicely polished surfaces. Inlay bright and intact with very good rich color and nice patina. 9-90080 (1,500-2,500)
