19TH CENTURY MILITIA CARTRIDGE BOX & SHOULDER STRAP. Small leather cartridge box, about 6″ x 3″, with large spread-winged American eagle on the flap and brass hangers to which is attached an orig blue & gold shoulder strap mounted to a black leather strap with brass lion’s head and American eagle shield connected by three chains. PROVENANCE: From a coastal New Jersey home. CONDITION: Fair. Leather is dry and lightly crackled with some losses in refinishing on the box; belt is also dry & crackled with one break and some edge losses. 9-24236 (300-500)
