MAHOGANY TALL CASE CLOCK. Mid 19th century, Scotland. The molded swans neck pediment centering a turned finial above the arched door opening to an enameled sheet iron face, a scene of castle ruins in the arch above the dial with Roman Numeral chapter ring centering calendar and sweep seconds subsidiary dials and with time and strike apertures. The weight driven eight-day brass movement striking on a bell. The case throat with bow front figural mahogany door flanked by engaged half column pilasters joined to the concave molded box base with central recessed molded panel above the shaped apron raised on modified French feet. Clock is offered with pendulum, weights, winder and door key. SIZE: Height: 90-1/2″. Throat width: 15-1/2. Depth: 9-3/4. CONDITION: Case with old polished surfaces, dial with original painted surfaces, paint absent at numerals IV and VIII in area of posts. Otherwise good. Movement clean. 9-28557 (1,500-2,500)
