GALLE FIRE POLISHED CAMEO VASE OR LAMP BASE. Magnificent Galle vase or lamp base (we have seen this model used as a lamp base, however this piece has not been drilled and shows no wear around the neck which is generally evident when metal hardware is attached) has deeply carved cameo iris flowers, stems and leaves in olive green set against an amethyst shading to cream background. The cameo work is very deeply carved and nicely detailed and the vase has then been fire polished. The vase is signed on the foot with a very ornate Oriental style signature “Galle”. SIZE: 16-1/4″ t.
