RARE LIBBEY GLASS ADVERTISING POSTER MADE FOR THE WORLD’S COLUMBIAN EXPOSITION. This colorful paper advertising poster titled in a banner below “Libbey Glass Co’s Factory in Full Operation at World’s Columbian Exposition”. Image depicts in full color the actual Libbey building as it appeared at the exposition replete with flags, banners and Libbey banner. The image was complements of Marshall Chemical Co. of Marshall, Virginia and their firm is also advertised on the poster named “Blue Ridge”. These printed posters were apparently distributed by Blue Ridge and used as a promotion. Three of these posters were discovered in 2003 in an old closed out store. The two previous ones were sold at our previous auctions; this is the last of the three. SIZE: Approx. 21” x 29”. CONDITION: Generally good with various imperfections. The print itself shows various roll creases, the outside edge of border shows remnants of tape at one time and the bottom third has a serious crease that goes the entire length of the picture and there was a tear (and loss of paper) approx. 4” in from the right side and a couple of inches in from the left side. There is also a small loss of paper at the bottom and in the very top right corner. Color is reasonably strong for this rare image. 5-62266 (400-800)
