FINE SHERATON FIGURED MAHOGANY BREAKFAST TABLE ATTRIBUTED TO THOMAS SEYMOUR. First quarter 19th century, Boston, MA, Thomas Seymour (1771-1848). The highly figured mahogany top with hinged D-form leaves all with reeded edges above the conforming apron with reeded edges, one end fitted with drawer mounted with early replacement large brass knob of the period, raised on ring turned heavily reeded tapered cylindrical legs with ringed cuffs, raised on brass casters. Examination and attribution of this table undertaken by Robert D. Mussey, Jr. The written report given on January 21, 2008 accompanies this item. SIZE: 27-1/2″ h x 20-1/2″ w closed, 47-1/2 w open x 36″ d. CONDITION: Structurally this table is in very fine condition. The two board top is original, the brass knob is a later replacement within the period. Casters original. Retains early finish with good rich color and patina. 9-20319 (3,000-5,000)
