Correction: Reenforcement or repair to lid at thumb lift. Only can be seen from inside. IMPORTANT PEWTER FLAGON AND FOUR BEAKERS BY SAMUEL DANFORTH, HARTFORD, CT (w.1795-1816). A tall “spire” flagon with “bee-hive” finial and applied scrolled handle, together with four beakers. This is one of several flagon designs that was produced by Samuel Danforth and is considered by many collectors to be his best. SIZE: Flagon: 13″ h. Beakers: 5-1/8″ h. PROVENANCE: Richard Paine Estate, Seal Cove, ME. CONDITION: Flagon very good overall, with minor dents and surface scratches. Beakers with rim and foot nicks and blemishes. 9-92549 (6,000-8,000)
