FINE GEORGE III DECORATED PEMBROKE TABLE. Last quarter 18th century, England. The mahogany table with bowed ends and shaped hinged leaves above the rectangular frieze fitted with a single cockbeaded drawer raised on square tapering legs terminating in brass capped casters. Finely paint decorated overall in the style of Angelica Kauffman. The central roundel painted with a classical woman seated with a putti and a floral filled landscape. All within a bowtied floral wreath emitting scrolling floral vinery, all within a border of floral garland. Each drop-leaf decorated with a central classical urn. The table with satinwood string inlays throughout. Beneath the drawer there is a paper label that reads: “H.B. Herts & Sons Fifth Ave, New York. H.B. & Sons was established in 1846 and were importers of English, French, Dutch and Italian Furniture.” SIZE: 28″ h x 30″ d. 17-3/4″ w closed. 33″ w opened. PROVENANCE: Collection and shop contents of Linda and the late Vito Peri (owners of the Blue Dolphin Antique Shop, Northport, Maine). CONDITION: Painted surfaces remain original and untouched.
