CUP PLATE MOLD & CERAMIC BOWL. Mold is a two-part plaster of paris mold made from a Henry Clay cup plate. Molds like this were used to press ceramic copies of various cup plates and toddy plates. Small ceramic bowl was made from a mold similar to before mentioned, but in the peacock eye pattern. Body appears to be redware. SIZE: Bowl is 4-7/8″. PROVENANCE: From the Collection of Dorothy-Lee Jones. CONDITION: Mold is very good showing use and staining from the release agent, but has no significant damage. Bowl is very good with very minor flaking. 5-63125 (100-200)
