LOT OF TWO PERCUSSION FIREARMS. 1) English Damascus Dbl Bbl Shotgun. Cal. 12 ga. It has 32″ Damascus bbls with two silver bands at the breech end and a “LONDON” touch mark on rib. Mounted in a 1-pc half-stock with German silver furniture and back action locks. It has a brass tipped hickory ramrod in the guides. Each side of buttstock is inlaid with a fine spread-winged American eagle. Trigger guard has a wonderful long finial and there is a small cap box on bottom of stock with a steel shell-shaped door. 2) Unmarked Conversion Half Stock Kentucky Rifle. Cal. 42. Light rifle with 28″ oct bbl converted from flintlock with illegible marking on lockplate. Bottom of bbl has an iron rib with two brass guides containing a hickory ramrod. The tiger maple half stock is brass mounted with crescent butt and shallow cheekpiece with pewter forend tip. There is a brass covered major repair in the wrist and it has dbl set triggers. PROVENANCE: From a coastal New Jersey home. CONDITION: 1) Mechanics are fine. Dark brown patina overall; wood is sound showing heavy wear, mechanics are fine. 2) Fair. Overall retains a dark, worn patina with fine pitting; stock shows heavy wear with the aforementioned repair; mechanics are fine. 9-24223 (500-1,000)
