AMERICAN FAN-BACK WINDSOR ARMCHAIR IN DARK GREEN PAINT. First quarter 19th century. The curved crest rail terminating in ram’s-horn ears joined to nine vertical spindles continuing to the medial curved armrail ending in shaped paddle grips above the deeply chamfered shaped saddle seat raised on simulating bamboo legs joined by a conforming box stretcher. SIZE: 44″ overall h x 27-1/2″ overall w. CONDITION: A spliced repair proper right rear of arm rail. Later dark green paint over original bluegreen. Otherwise good. 9-20078 (3,000-5,000)
